Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus, South Korea, 2013

Abstract

In 2013, 35 patients were diagnosed with severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome in South Korea. It is likely that environmental temperature affected the monthly and regional distribution of patients within the country. Phylogenetic analysis indicated the Korean isolates were closely related to isolates from China and Japan.
