The Division of Medical Entomology researches
on arthropods and rodents associated
with diseases. As a national center
for vector surveillance system, we manage
vector surveillance systems and work
for ecological characterization of medically
important animals. To control vectors
effectively, we detect the pathogenic
organisms from vectors,
examine potential vectors,
and research on their dissemination mechanism
of the pathogen through vectors. To ensure
biological resources, we collect medically
important insect throughout the country
and keep the specimen. To react on global
warming, we survey and monitor imported
insects and rodents with National Quarantine
Offices. We present guidelines for vector
control in local health centers and PCO.
We research on development of environmental
bioactive insecticide. We build up network
to co-work with global entomologists.
