| The Division
of AIDS conducts diagnosis to basic
research on the mechanisms of HIV infection.
AIDS research is currently focused on
studying the molecular biological properties,
replication mechanism and characteristics
of the host immune response to HIV.
We also study on the development of
vaccine and antiviral agents. |

|
| As the national HIV reference
laboratory, we provide quality assurance programs
of HIV test for screening laboratories and
in-service training for public health workers.
In addition, we conduct studies on AIDS-related
opportunistic virus infection and sexually
transmitted viruses including human papillomavirus(HPV)
and human herpesvirus type2(HSV-2). |
