The Division
of Enteric Bacterial Infections provides
national standards for identification
of bacteria related to intestinal infectious
diseases, including identification and
confirmation of the isolates from National
Health Laboratory in Korea.
We perform several
tests with the collected isolates like phage
typing, antimicrobial sensitivity test, ribotyping
and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis(PFGE).
Those data are applied as tool of epidemiological
surveillance and standard of laboratory diagnostics.
Also basic or applied researches are performed
on pathogenicity of isolated bacteria.
