IIntroduction |
| The Division of
Biosafety Evaluation and Control
is responsible for performing
national framework of biosafety
management, and reviewing and
coordinating all activities relating
to living modified organisms (LMOs)
derived from modern biotechnology
and high dangerous pathogens and
toxins. |

 |
Major responsibilities
are; |
- Risk assessment
of LMOs considering human health
- Certification for biosafety
level 3 and 4 facilities
- Review of the experiments involving
LMOs which require national approvals
- Establishment of national guidelines
relating to biosafety issues
- Development of human risk assessment
methods for LMOs and novel pathogens
- Collaborations with Institute
Biosafety Committee and other
related Institutions
- Serving as the focal points
for data management of biosafety
information
- Training and education in biosafety
practices & procedures in
laboratory |
