The Korea National Institute of Health(KNIH), a research orgnaization under the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention, is devoted to the promotion of Public health through disease prevention and eradication and of social security through the reduced risk of desease outbreak. It conducts research to illuminate the causes of various diseases and effectively prevent and control communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The KNIH puts improving the quality of citizens' healthy lives as its top priority. It therefore endeavors to strengthen national disease control administration and policy to provide against emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and protect citizens from social and economic crises. It is also developing methods to effectively share the numerous benefits arising from the successful eradication of deseases.
It will also fulfill its responsibilities as an international health organization contribution to global health improvement, and will collaborate with domestic government organizations and research and development in order to create a national health infrastructure worthy of global implementation.
Health is a basic right all citizens are entitle to. The KNIH promises to safeguard public health and provide a safe environment where all citizens can lead happy lives without the burden of diseases.
