The Division of Human
Blood Safety Surveillance is responsible
for ensuring the safety of our nation's
blood supply. Major responsibilities
include: (1)analysing the information
on blood safety. blood supply and demand
with collected statistics, (2)providing
supervision, guidance, and evaluation
to Blood Centers, (3)monitoring and
investigating on adverse events, (4)
auditing transfusing practices
at medical institutions and evaluating the
suitability for blood transfusion.
HBSS also seeks to further improve the blood
surveillance system by monitoring Blood
Information Management System(BIMS) and
conducting research surveys an new technological
development and systems of other countries.
