The Division of Chronic Disease Surveillance accomplishes its mission by conducting public health surveillance, epidemiologic studies, and behavioral risk surveillance; by disseminating guidelines and recommendations; by providing accurate, relevant, and timely statistical information that will guide actions and policies to improve the health of the Korean people.
- Planning and conducting surveillance for chronic disease, injury and behavioral risk
- Epidemiologic studies for chronic disease, injury and behavioral risk
- Production and dissemination of national statistics for chronic disease, injury and behavioral risk
- Developing and managing of chronic disease information system
- Developing the local capacity of chronic disease surveillance and control
- Designation and management of sentinel hospital
- Providing accurate, relevant, and timely statistical information for chronic disease, injury prevention & control
