04 Center for Infectious Disease Control

KCDC systematically and continuously collects and analyzes data on infectious diseases and their carriers, distributes the analyzed data as necessary at the right time, and thus ensures them to be used in infectious disease prevention and control.

The epidemiology of the prevalence of infectious diseases is continuously changing and new vaccines are being developed for the prevention of infectious diseases. In line with this trend, the Infectious Disease Control Center evaluates and manages vaccination criteria and status by building and assessing related medical and scientific data. In addition, it collects supporting data for introduction of new vaccines to the national vaccination project, investigates the degree of immunity to infectious diseases that are subject to vaccination, and thus provides basic data necessary in preparing infectious disease control and vaccination policies.
